Another UK Veg Fest Draws Huge Crowds

More than 13,000 attendees convened on Vegfest UK Bristol, braving rain and wind for a chance to get their hands on vegan finds.

Rainy weather couldn’t stop the United Kingdom’s veg community as the 14th annual VegfestUK vegan festival in the English city of Bristol drew crowds upwards of 13,000 people over the weekend. The festival featured electronic dance and reggae music, 200 retail goods stalls, educational and informative resources, cooking demonstrations, family activities, workshops, and plentiful food vendors. “Obviously we’re thrilled to see that so many people still flocked to our outdoor event in spite of the changeable weather conditions,” organizers said. “This goes to show how popular our events have become and how our followers go to great lengths to enjoy vegan community festivals like Vegfest.” Attendance was likely encouraged by a newly launched vegan billboard campaign that advertised the festival all over town while also urging the public to go vegan with depictions of farmed animals pleading for their lives. The blowout follows similarly immensely successful vegan events held in Europe, including a first-annual vegan fair in New Forest, England and the opening of a vegan diner that drew so many people police officers were needed to disperse crowds.
