Forks Over Knives Launches Plant-Based Meal Delivery Service
From the organization who gave us the inspiring film, “Fork Over Knives,” comes another plant-based initiative: a meal delivery service called Forks Fresh Meals.
The delivery service consists of prepared vegan meals that were created by FOK’s culinary project director and chef, Darshana Thacker, who is also responsible for many of the recipes from the FOK books and website. The individual meals, which are based on what is in-season, are delivered cold and fresh 1-2 times a week, and can be customized depending on any allergies or preferences.
“More than anything, we want people to be healthy and and happy,” Brian Wendel, the president and founder of “Forks Over Knives” told Latest Vegan News. “We often hear how finding great-tasting, healthy food is often challenging to come by for people, especially those with busy schedules. We created Forks Fresh Meals to serve as a way to make a whole-food, plant-based lifestyle easy, delicious, and super-convenient. Having this service allows us to bring a healthier lifestyle to a greater number of people.”
The service is perfect for those who wants to eat healthy vegan meals, but don’t have the time or desire to cook. It’s also likely to convert those omnivores who are curious to try a plant-based diet — much like Kristen Bell after she viewed “Forks Over Knives” — but have no idea where to start.
Right now, deliveries are being made to much of the Northeast and mid-Atlantic states, but Wendel says they are hoping to expand soon.
“We are working to expand the delivery range of our Philadelphia facility to cover more of the east coast and Mid-Atlantic states,” said Wendel. “We anticipate a west coast operation shortly after the new year.”
Customers can customize meal plans, pause delivery, and more on the website. If you are not completely satisfied after the first week of your program, you’ll get your money back.
