Novak Djokovic Is Serving Up Delicious Vegan Meals In Monaco
|Another sign that vegan food is taking over in 2016: tennis stars came out in force in Monte Carlo on Sunday to support Novak Djokovic’s vegan restaurant.
Djokovic, who is currently ranked number one in the world in men’s singles tennis, previewed his new vegan restaurant to his tennis pals, Andy Murray, Tomas Berdych, Fabio Fognini and Grigor Dimitrov, ahead of the grand opening. In a Facebook post about the new venture, the star wrote:
My wife and I transferred our passion for healthy food into a restaurant concept called Eqvita Restaurant that is supposed to open in a few weeks. Tonight, we are sharing our excitement with our family, friends and colleagues, and in a few weeks time, we will invite you all to join us here in Monaco.
Eqvita’s vegan fare certainly looks delicious. With vibrant, healthy meals and tasty cold-pressed juices packed full of nutrients, compassionate Monégasques are in for a treat when it opens.
Plant-powered athletes certainly are taking over! Venus and Serena Williams both opt for vegan meals while training, as do many other tennis superstars. And from the boxing ring to the gym, more and more top athletes – like world champion boxer David Haye and Mr Universe 2014 Barny Du Plessis– are realising the benefits of eating healthy vegan meals. Humans don’t need to eat animals to perform at our peak – and time and time again, it’s been demonstrated that a plant-based diet is better for our health, the environment and our consciences.
