‘Jackass’ Star Steve-O Charged And Facing 4 Years In Prison After SeaWorld Protest

Steve-O has reportedly been charged over his recent SeaWorld stunt and could face jail.

The Jackass star climbed a crane 100 feet above the ground in Hollywood earlier this month to protest against the theme park, which has come under heavy criticism in recent years with allegations about its treatment of their whales and other mammals.

After carrying an inflatable killer whale called Shammy - a likely reference to the park’s famous attraction Shamu - Steve-O reportedly let off fireworks as a helicopter flew nearby.

According to US gossip website TMZ, the L.A. City Attorney has charged him with creating a false emergency, use of unregistered fireworks, storing and possession of fireworks without permit, and trespassing. If convicted of all charges, Glover faces up to four-and-a-half years in jail and up to $4,500 in fines.

He is scheduled to appear in court Aug. 31.

SeaWorld has faced mounting criticism since the 2013 release of the documentary “Blackfish,” which claims the aquatic park is mistreating their killer whales by keeping them isolated in their tanks — a practice that may be driving them to attack park employees.
