Billboard By PETA Is Unveiled In Leeds Exposing The Link Between Consuming Meat And Cancer

If a scene like this occurred in public, there’s no doubt that there would be an uproar over the harm being done to an innocent child. However, as a thought-provoking new PETA billboard in Leeds reminds viewers, feeding an infant processed meat, like bacon, could do just as much damage.

The billboard has gone up on Burley Street near Leeds General Infirmary.

This week, the World Health Organization (WHO) released a report about the dangers of eating processed meat. According to the findings, 50 grams of processed meat a day – the equivalent of one sausage or less than two slices of bacon – increases a person’s chance of developing bowel cancer by 18 per cent.

Although it’s no surprise that eating meat is unhealthy, the ranking by WHO’s International Agency for Research on Cancer of processed meat alongside cigarettes among the worst cancer-causing products out there has caused quite a stir. It’s just one more piece of evidence demonstrating that the best way to safeguard your health is to eat a compassionate plant-based diet. And of course, eating vegan is much, much better for animals, too!
